We have: 50000000 = 5 x 10000000 = 5 x 107
Thus, the standard form of 50000000 is 5 x 107.

(ii) 70,00,000:
We have: 70,00,000 = 7 x 1000000 = 7 x 106
Thus, the standard form of 70,00,000 is 7 x 106.

(iii) 3,18,65,00,000:
We have: 3186500000 = 3.186500000 x 109 = 3.1865 x 109
Thus, the standard form of 3186500000 is 3.1865 x 109.

(iv) 3,90,878:
We have: 390878 = 3.90878 x 105
Thus, the standard form of 390878 is 3.90878 x 105.

(e) In a galaxy there are on an average 100,000,000,000 stars.
(f) The universe is estimated to be about 12,000,000,000 years old.
(g) The distance of the Sun from the centre of the Milky Way Galaxy is estimated to be 300,0, 000,000,000,000,000 m.
(h) 60,230,000,000,000,000,000,000 molecules are contained in a drop of water weighing 1.8 gm.

∴ The distance between Earth and Moon is 3.84 x 108 m.

∴ The speed of light in vacuum is 3 x 108 m/s.

(c) ∵ 1,27,56,000 = 1.2756000 x 107 = 1.2756 x 107
∴ The diameter of the Earth is 1.2756 x 107 m.

(d) ∵ 1.400.0. 000 = 1.400000000 x 109 = 1.4 x 109
∴ The diameter of Sun is 1.4 x 109 m.

(e) ∵ 100.0. 000.000 = 1 x 1011
∴ In a galaxy, there are on an average 1 x 1011 stars.

(f) ∵ 12000000000 = 1.2 x 1010
∴ The universe is estimated to be about 1.2 x 1010 years old.
