Activity 1.
चित्रपदानि – १ : The teacher will show the picture of a bull in the class and repeat the word वृषभ: 3-4 times. She / He will then write एषः वृषभ: on the blackboard and repeat it, which the students will also repeat about 3-4 times. Then the same order will be followed with the other words. Finally to test the students the teacher will hold up 1 picture and ask एषः कः? to which students will answer – एषः वृषभ:, etc.

If the students cannot give the answer, the teacher will revise each word again.
The teacher can use एषः for masculine animals and birds and care for the masculine things. Explain that both mean ‘This’ and while one is used for animals / birds, the other is used for things.

Activity 2.
Use the question एषा का? to ask about the words in this lesson.
The teacher will show the picture of a alcohol (sparrow) and repeat at alcohti 3-4 times and the students will do the same. The same order will be followed for the rest of the pictures. Finally, to test the students’ understanding, the teacher will show a picture and ask you got? to which the students will answer correctly.
The meanings of words : कः / का / किम् – which all mean ‘what in masculine / feminine / neuter gender respectively should be explained.
Also the word – this used for feminine names should be explained.
Explain that कः / का / किम् can also mean ‘which’ for
कः छात्र:? – Which student ?

Activity 3.
Ask questions for this lesson – एतत् किम्? Show each picture 3-4 times and repeat the words एतत् छत्रम् । etc. according to the picture. Ask the students also to say it clearly and correctly. Finally to check the students’ knowledge the teacher will ask : एतत् किम्? and the students will answer : एतत् छत्रम् । etc.. Revise all the pictures in the same manner.

Activity 4.
For चित्रपदानि -४ the questions to be asked are एषः राष: कः ? राषा का ? and रातत् किम् according to the word for which it is asked.
(1) Distribute the pictures among the students and ask them to speak the name of the picture they have.
(2) Place various pictures at different places in the class. The teacher will say a particular name and a student has to find the appropriate picture and bring it to him/her. (The teacher speaks in Sanskrit.)
(3) Students should learn to pronounce each and every Sanskrit word clearly and correctly. Practice should be given by writing the words on the board and asking the students to read them out aloud.
(4) Show picture cards and ask – राष: कः ? राषा का ? and रातत् किम्
(5 ) The teacher will say शाटिका. The student who has the correct picture will come forward and show it to the class and the students will repeat the word. This activity can be done with all the other pictures.
(6) Arrange the pictures in different places in the class. The teacher speaks a word in Sanskrit and a student brings the correct picture and shows it to the class.
